Automotive Junk

Important Note:  Most of this stuff is an odd mixture of junk parts.  Some stuff is new.  All prices are negotiable, just send me an email at ozone@cfl.rr.com.  Price usually is an indicator of condition.  Some things will be offered for free to the person who pays for shipping.  I will be as honest as I can in the description.  Some things will not work perfectly or even at all, so read the descriptions carefully.  You pay for shipping.  Some things are offered at only the shipping price because I just want them out of my garage.  If they are not sold in a few months, I will likely throw them away.  I realize this is some seriously weird stuff and often junky stuff, but hey, one man's junk . . . right?  Everything is sold AS IS, no warranty.

Visit this page periodically.  I am always coming up with new junk and I have a few ideas floating around my head for performance parts I might kit out.

Description:  This is the rear anti-sway bar, also called an anti-roll bar, from my Corolla.  It comes with the two rubber bushings for mounting, but not the metal brackets that hold it on.  It also comes with the connecting rods, although they look pretty shot.  Bear in mind that the bar is about 19 years old so don't expect it to look perfect.  I think a little sand paper and some paint would work wonders and I believe it's mechanical properties are still pretty much in tact.  Would be great for a cheap SR5 upgrade.

Description:  This is the intercooler that came with my 4agze engine.  I believe it is in good working order, although I have never used it.  As you can see there are quite a few bent fins and the clip on the left bottom (of the picture) is bent.  I believe this is purely cosmetic and the fins and clip can be bent back with some patience.  It is from a front wheel drive 4agze and will not fit on an MR2.

I am selling it because I used a front mount intercooler instead.

Description:  This is one of the Celica emergency brake cables I bought at Toyota to retrofit my Corolla.  It flat out would not work for me.  They would not let me return it.  It is only one of two.  I may have the other one shortly, if they force me to purchase the other one.  This is for the "Left" side and fits a narrow body 1990 Celica GTS ST184.
This is a touchy thing to order even if you own a Celica and you need to verify that the part number is correct first by providing the dealer with a VIN number and making sure that the part number they provide you is the same in the picture to the left.  It is xxxxx-xxxxx

Description:  Speaker covers for the rear speakers mounted in the package tray.  They have some scuff marks as visible in the picture, but they are otherwise fine.  A light coat of paint and they would look perfect.

Price: $5.00 for both

Description: One thingamajig from my Corolla.  I don't know what this is.  It was connected to a down pipe from the intake and occupied the space in front of the driver's side front tire.  I presume it has something to do with the air flow or sound of the intake.  Either way, it must be very valuable.  I believe it's condition is good because it has no moving parts and the plastic is unbroken.

Description: The reason these are in the automotive section is because I bought a bunch of these, hoping to use a few as storage on the Corolla.  Wiper fluid for instance.  When I got them, I decided they really didn't have the look I was going for.  I'm reconsidering that now that my water bottle has sprung a leak.  They do have some blemishes and a few of them have small dings.  They are aluminum and unbelievably light weight.  They are also food grade.  They come with a plastic cap under the aluminum one to keep it all sealed up.  They are either 1 liter or 1.1 liter (I forgot) and very flat on the bottom.  I have about 30 of them and I can give discounts for multiples.  They are, of course, handy for anything that doesn't react with aluminum.  They could look pretty good painted to the color of your car.

Description: These are the plug wires that Toysport sent to me, that supposedly fit the JDM 4agze.  They are new and I think they might actually fit.  They seemed to click in place when I tried them, but the rubber seal at the top that keeps stuff from getting into the area between the valve covers where the plugs reside, did not fit.  The diameter was barely bigger than the hole so instead of plugging the hole they went down below the level of the holes.  Electrically, though, I think they will work.

They will not work on a distributor version 4a engine because there is no coil wire.  Just the four that go to the plugs.

Description: Unknown 4ag clutch, flywheel and pressure plate.  I must have saved over the original larger photo.  I will try to take some more soon.

I believe the dimensions for the flywheel are:

270 mm overall, that's gear tooth to gear tooth.

234 mm for just the contact area.

I can verify all of this if you are interested.

Condition: New (flywheel has surface rust)
Price: $100.00 for all three.

Description: Springs from my Corolla GTS.  I'm told by Eibach that although springs may sag, they do not lose their spring rate.  These springs (the one on the right in the photo) had my car sitting about 3/4" lower than stock.  No apparent rust.  Just dirt.

You might just use them as experimental springs for racing, cut a coil off, that sort of thing.

Description: Stock springs off a 1999 V6 Solara.  The picture at the left is just a place holder.  I'll try to take a photo soon.  They have no rust and are in good condition.

Description: My old radiator.  This is in pretty bad shape but as far as I recall, it still held pressure.  Maybe you are on a super low budget.  Or maybe you just want it for size reference, what do I know why someone would want this old thing.  No cap.  It is upside down in this picture.  I'll probably just toss this thing in the trash soon.

Description: Old grill from my wife's Solara.  The chrome is chipping off and the Toyota emblem was put on the new grill.

Great for painting if you want to see what the grill would look like in black or any other color but don't want to mess up your grill.

Description: Old headlights and corner lights from my wife's Solara.  They are quite foggy.  They clean up pretty well, but the fog always comes back, like most plastic headlights today.  I use McGuire's Plast X to clean them.

Anyway, other than the fogginess, there are not problems.  Bulbs are your responsibility.

Description:

4age engine from a 1988 Corolla GTS, front wheel drive.  I am the second owner.  The engine has 168K miles on it and ran when it was removed from the car.

This engine is an early 4age with the T-VIS (Toyota Variable Intake System).  That equates to ~115 HP when new.

This engine is far from new, however.

The engine is sold as-is.  I will attempt to describe it as accurately as possible, but in 15 years of ownership, it is easy to forget things.
The engine has been sitting for the last five years and while I felt it was dependable when I last drove it, it did have some problems.  There was a ticking sound that I thought was valve lash, but wasn't.
The valve lash is within spec.  Someone else told me the noise was from the bottom end.  If it is a spun bearing however, then it ran on a spun bearing for years because that's how long I heard the noise.
The engine leaks oil from all the usual places, especially the o-ring around the distributor.

The transmission was making a noise that turns out to be a worn carrier bearing (I think).

That would cost more to fix than to replace.  From time to time some external bolts were removed for 4agze comparison purposes and I cannot guaranty that they all found their way back.
The AC leaks and is not included.  I think I need the clutch off of it.
This engine should be considered a rebuilder only.  It would be an excellent candidate for that.
The good news and the reason for the price is, it comes with a completely uncut engine (not body) harness and stock ECU.
I worked very hard, not to cut any wires including visiting junkyards to get the ones I knew were on this engine, to do my swap.
Included with the purchase is everything you see in these pictures except the broken AC compressor, I mentioned.
Engine, harness, ECU, starter, alternator, transmission, AFM, clutch, power steering pump, exhaust manifold.  I think I have the C series drive shafts, but I can't remember their condition.
Except for what I've mentioned, everything works more or less but is in used condition.

Oh yeah, the black rubber tube from the intake to the AFM split, so I tossed it in the trash.  It's not included

The "octopus" that mounts on top of the transmission and directs the coolant to it's various places is not included since I used it on my car. I've taken all of these pictures to accurately describe the condition of the engine.  I will NOT part it out.  I want it out of my garage.

Again, this is an AS-IS sale.

I will not take responsibility for something I may have forgotten.

The weight of the engine and all of these parts is about 400 lbs and the wooden pallet is about 60 lbs.  Pick-up would be great so I don't have to worry about packing it up and shipping it.

If you have any questions or want any more photos taken, email me.
